Join me for a luxurious, guided food and wine tour of Tuscany. We will base in the historic hilltown of Cortona, site of the film and book Under the Tuscan Sun, and my ‘home away from home’ for over a decade in Italy. Cortona is a place that I have come to love with fabulous restaurants, wonderful boutiques, charming people, and utterly magical essence of la dolce vita.
Guests have the options of lodging at the luxurious 5-star Monastero di Cortona Hotel & Spa or at the charming Villa Marsili (hotel details at bottom of page). Both properties are within a short walk from the main piazza of Cortona. Guests will enjoy excursions to the diverse wine regions of Tuscany, with tastings and lunches in the regions of Montepulciano, Montalcino, Chianti Classico, and Bolgheri, visiting and tasting at some of the most prestigious and historic wineries in all of Italy. Evenings will be spent in Cortona, enjoying the beauty of this Etruscan town, and savoring classic Tuscan cuisine in both rustic and fine dining environments. All guests will have the opportunity to use an excursion day to travel by train to Florence and explore my favorite big city, and return to Cortona for a fabulous wine dinner at one of Cortona’s top restaurants. We will enjoy one full day in Cortona to experience the market, and an optional excursion to the incredible Eremo San Francesco, the small hermitage/monastery where St. Francis of Assisi spent his final days.
What’s Included

All winery visits/tastings including transportation, round-trip train ticket to Florence (optional).
Not included: airfare, transportation to the train station at Camucia-Cortona, some meals, any individual purchases at wineries, etc. I will help arrange reservations for any dinners on your own and provide suggestions as requested.

Registration for the tour is first-come, first-served based on receipt of deposit. Confirmation of your participation will not be given until deposit payment is received.
Remaining balance due in-full by December 31, 2024. If payment is not received by December 31, 2024, you risk losing your place on the tour to anyone on the waitlist unless prior arrangements have been made.
Refunds:
Deposit of $1,500 is non-refundable.
Balance above the deposit payment is refundable as follows: 75% refundable, January 1-30, 2024; After February 1, 2025, all payments are nonrefundable unless the tour is cancelled by Michael Kirkendoll / Uncorked Pianist LLC.
