Wine Passport: Brunello 2019 Grand Tasting Class
Cost: $135/pp
The great wine of Tuscany, Brunello di Montalcino is one of the pinnacle wines in the world. It has the power to express place and grape with a purity that is only equalled by the wines of Burgundy and Barolo. The 2019 Vintage for Brunello di Montalcino is among the greatest of the past 50 years, and is already my favorite since 2006. These are wines that have the potential to age for DECADES but are also showing an incredible ability to drink well in their youth. I have been working over the last several months to acquire a large range of 2019 Brunello for the Pane e Vino cellar, and for this evening, we will explore the differences in terroir and winemaking that lead to the incredible diversity in this extraordinary region.
This class will focus on a basic tasting of 5 Brunellos from top producers with an opportunity to taste over a dozen top bottlings and possibly a few older vintages. This class will be accompanied by cheese, charcuterie, and mixed crostini plates.
