John Lytton grew up in Prairie Village, KS. He lived and studied in Japan from 1978 to 2014. In Japan, he was able to study and perform with world-class performers of traditional Japanese music, specializing in the three- stringed shamisen and the tsuzumi hand drum. In addition to many concert performances, demonstrations for schoolkids, and a recurring performance series, he also appeared on stage as a musician in two Kabuki traditional drama productions. Living in Japan also awakened interests in Buddhism, meditation, tea ceremony, and calligraphy. He enjoys the musical and artistic scenes in his retirement in Lawrence, KS.

SommSip Tasting Experience

$10 guided tasting of one wine on the menu. Go through the wine's region, winemaking, and history while learning to taste and examine the details of the wine and its parts. SimmSip Tastings are 30 minutes in length. Reservation or walk-in but limited to 20 guests, first-come first-served.
